Oman has two very different seasons worth planning around — cool winters for the north, and the green Khareef monsoon for the south. Here's how to time it.
This is the ideal window for most of Oman. Daytime temperatures sit around 25°C — perfect for exploring Muscat, hiking the wadis, camping in the Wahiba Sands, and road-tripping to Nizwa and Jebel Akhdar. Winter (December–February) is the sweet spot.
While the rest of Arabia bakes, southern Oman turns green. The Khareef monsoon cloaks the hills around Salalah in mist and waterfalls, with mild temperatures and lush scenery unlike anywhere else in the Gulf. It's a completely different, magical side of Oman.
Outside Salalah, summer in Oman is very hot — best avoided for the north unless you stick to the coast or mountains.
Whichever season you choose, get the visa sorted first — you can apply for an Oman Visit Visa and receive it by email.
