Tourists to Oman must obtain an e-Visa Oman prior to travel unless they come from one of the visa-exempt countries.
Citizens of member nations of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) may travel to Oman without visa requirements. Nationals of 71 other countries and territories can apply for an Oman eVisa online, which is valid for 30 days. All tourists must hold a passport valid for at least 6 months.

Since 21 March 2018, tourists can apply online for an Oman eVisa. Alternatively, they may obtain an Oman visit visa at designated counters at Omani border posts.
However, travelers are advised to apply for an Oman visa online before their journey. There is concern that requiring on-arrival applications might deter some tourists from visiting Oman.
Citizens of the following 25 countries are eligible for an eVisa if they, or their spouses or children of another nationality, hold a valid visa or residence permit from a Schengen Area country, Australia, Canada, Japan, the UK, or the US.

Residents (but not citizens) of GCC countries may also apply for a 28-day single-entry Oman GCC visa, provided they have a valid profession listed in the approved profession list.
