The GCC, or Gulf Cooperation Council, is a regional political and economic alliance of six member countries:
Citizens of the GCC countries enjoy visa-free entry to Oman. The GCC was established in 1981 with the signing of the Charter of the Gulf Cooperation Council to foster cooperation among member states.
While GCC citizens do not require a visa to enter Oman, foreign residents living in GCC countries must obtain a visa. Previously, this required visiting an Omani embassy or consulate in person. However, with the introduction of the Oman Online Visa, eligible residents can now apply online without needing to visit an embassy.
Note: Legal foreign residents residing in GCC countries can apply for an Oman eVisa regardless of their nationality. Even if their country of citizenship is not listed as eligible for the Oman eVisa, residency in a GCC country makes them eligible.
The Oman eVisa allows visitors to stay for up to 30 days. Besides the tourist eVisa, other types of visas are also available depending on the purpose of the visit.
Once your application is approved, you will receive the Oman eVisa via email. Present the eVisa and your passport to Omani border officials upon arrival.
